Research partnerships and memberships

One of the key reasons for Fraunhofer IBP's international renown is its success in reaching out to research institutions and project partners in other countries. Cooperation with industry partners helps to launch new and environmentally friendly building materials, components and systems. Fraunhofer IBP's clients comprise companies from the building industry, mechanical engineering firms, plant manufacturers, private and public-sector institutions engaged in construction research, and architects.

Fraunhofer IBP collaborates with academic institutions including the University of Stuttgart, the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the University of Applied Sciences Rosenheim, and Munich University of Applied Sciences. These universities cover the institute's basic research requirements while benefiting from the dual role of the institute's Directors, who simultaneously hold chairs at the universities.

Fraunhofer IBP has also worked in partnership with the for the last 30 years. This collaboration aims to support R&D in the building sector through projects designed to provide small and medium-sized companies with access to the latest research results and innovative technologies.
