Formaldehyde Emissions under REACH

Starting in August 2026, stricter requirements regarding formaldehyde emissions will apply in the EU to furniture, wood-based materials, and numerous other products. New limits will also take effect for vehicle interiors in 2027. Anyone who wishes to continue placing their products on the market in compliance with the law must understand the requirements well in advance and implement appropriate testing strategies.

Asbestos as a Critical Risk Factor for the Building Transition

According to Fraunhofer IBP, the rapid and reliable identification of asbestos fibers will be one of the key requirements for the upcoming wave of renovation projects. To save time and money on construction sites, the institute is collaborating with Fraunhofer IOSB to develop a new optical detection method and is expanding its analytical capabilities to include a hazardous materials laboratory.

Improved Indoor environmental quality in Industrial Workplaces
