Product Developments

Whether it’s innovative acoustic elements, building materials made of cattail or DressMAN - Fraunhofer IBP has developed a series of interesting products that involved the entire expertise of its specialist departments.  



Fraunhofer IBP conducts research on new aircraft architectures in a way that drives value creation and makes them environmentally friendly, thus contributing to the ecological and socio-economic acceptance of aviation.


Cultural Heritage Research

This business unit analyzes concepts for the room climate inside historical buildings, develops new solutions for museum depots and archives, and also conducts research on the preservation of historical monuments at the Fraunhofer Center Benediktbeuern.


Weather Data

Fraunhofer IBP has been collecting weather data at its field test site in Holzkirchen since 1950s. The weather data is recorded using the IMEDAS system and visualized in our online weather station.

By developing innovative concepts and technical solutions, we contribute to the development of a holistic strategy for improving sustainability throughout the shipbuilding industry.


Digitization / BIM

Fraunhofer IBP has wide-ranging expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and strives to use our specially developed simulation software to ensure a smooth connection to IFC / BIM models.

Fraunhofer IBP conducts research on People in rooms and helps its customers design office spaces in an interdisciplinary way.
